1146m climb. Max speed 81.56kph. No dirt, opted for 20k of Monaro Hwy instead.
Here ok – pulled up to a cafe first up for milkshakes.
So as we approached our left turn off Maffra Rd onto Snowy River Way we saw three cycle tourers coming along from the right (from the direction of Dalgety). We stopped to chat at the corner. They were Will, Mike and (we think!) Paul, from the UK. They were riding Melbourne to Sydney, had left Melbourne the same day we left Sydney, but our respective routes only overlapped for a few kilometres, so what are the chances of running into each other like that?! They were headed to the coast via Nimmitabel. Great to swap touring stories, and hope all continues well for their travels!
Today was our cranky day.
While we were having milkshakes outside the Cosmo Cafe on the main street, a local cyclist, Warwick, stopped to chat.
Part of what we really enjoy about travelling this way. Kindred spirits stop to chat about the tandem, and touring, and their experiences.
Have more stories to fill in – the English guys in the photo earlier in the day….
