I was thinking back today about how we initially caught the touring bug.  While perhaps not qualifying as ‘pure’ cycle touring (what is?), our first Bicycle NSW Big Ride, 11 years ago, was probably where it all began.  Back when we scarred our kids for life and made them ride 500k over 9 days.   (Even if it was supported and trucks carried our gear from campsite to campsite!)

We subsequently did one more Bicycle NSW Big Ride (in 2007), and then a self-organised (and supported) tandem ride down the east coast of Tassie with tandem riding friends we’d made.
